WAXING BEFORE / AFTER ADVICE:

• The more hydrated your skin, the more comfortable your waxing experience. Drink your 2L of water and moisturise daily.

• Please trim hair to approx 0.5-1cm before your appointment if you do not wax regularly or are overdue (or wait 2-3 weeks after shaving).

• Ladies, your skin is more sensitive the week prior to and during your period. Most clients time their monthly waxing appointments for 1 week after their period has finished. This does not affect everyone, but some will have a noticeable difference in comfort when timing waxing with their cycle.

• If you have any sunburn, extremely dry skin or other skin irritations it may be best to postpone your wax until it has healed.

• You can take an anti-inflammatory at your discretion such as ibuprofen 30 mins prior to your wax if you are concerned about pain.

• It is recommended to wait 2-3 months before waxing an area which has been tattooed. Your artwork needs to be fully healed.

• Please point out any moles, skin tags or lesions on your skin prior to commencing your waxing session.

• If you are taking a shower or bath shortly after your wax please use cool water to avoid irritating the skin and use a gentle moisturiser afterwards.

• If you are prone to pimple-like bumps after waxing, apply a professional post-wax solution or diluted Tea-Tree oil for the few days following your appointment or when bumps appear. The bumps are caused by bacteria getting into the pores before they close.

• If you are prone to ingrown hairs, moisturise daily and gently exfoliate several times per week. If ingrowns on the bikini area appear pimple-like, apply tea tree oil or a professional ingrown solution with a cotton pad. Remove ingrown hairs with tweezers if possible and cleanse the area afterwards.

• Those who have taken Acne medications such as Retin-A, Accutane, etc, within the last 12 months are advised against waxing.

• Those who have taken other skin thinning medications within the last 12 months are advised against waxing.

• Those who use eye creams containing Vitamin A near the eyelid/brow area are asked to refrain from using these products for a few days prior to eyebrow waxing
